Where it hurts

Where does it hurt?

That is the problem we look at most. You get an assessment and, where it is appropriate, treatment in the same appointment.

Tap the closest one. It takes you to the page that covers it, with the fee and the booking link on it. You do not need a diagnosis first, that is our job.

You do not need to know which one it is. Pick the closest, or ring us on (07) 2103 3978 and describe it.

What it costs

What it costs, before you book

The first-appointment offer runs at South Brisbane. Indooroopilly is a standard initial consult fee. We say which is which, because the two clinics are priced differently and finding that out at reception is not fair.

Offer terms. New patients only. Available at our South Brisbane clinic, Unit 1/1 Cordelia St, and not at Indooroopilly. It covers the initial podiatry consult, 30 minutes. No referral needed. The $0 gap applies where your private health extras cover includes podiatry and you have annual limit remaining; your fund and your remaining limit decide what you pay on the day, and it is $99 without eligible cover. We accept all health funds. Anything beyond the first appointment is quoted in the room before it happens. All prices in AUD, per appointment. If you want the figure confirmed for your fund before you book, ring (07) 2103 3978.

We accept all health funds. Consults are claimable with private health extras cover. You book one appointment at a time. Nothing here signs you up to a plan.

Both open the clinic's own diary. Prices for anything beyond the first appointment are quoted in the room, before it happens.

What we treat

What we treat, beyond the heel itself

Heel pain rarely arrives on its own. These are the foot and lower limb problems the two clinics see, and what each one usually feels like.

Plantar fasciitisPain under the heel and along the arch, worst on the first steps of the day. Read more about plantar fasciitis in Brisbane.
Achilles tendinitisPain and stiffness at the back of the heel, tender when you squeeze the tendon, worse the day after a hard session.
Heel painThe symptom itself, whatever is behind it. The first appointment is about finding which structure is loaded and why.
Flat feet and high archesHow your foot sits and loads. Relevant when pain keeps coming back in the same spot. Read more about custom orthotics in Brisbane.
Shin splintsPain along the shin bone that builds with running volume. Read more about sports podiatry in Brisbane.
Running and sports injuriesFoot, heel and lower limb problems that only show up when you train. Read more about sports podiatry in Brisbane.
Ingrown and thickened toenailsBoth clinics run a nail surgery appointment for ingrown nails that keep coming back.
Corns, callus and hard skinUsually a loading problem wearing through the skin, so we look at the cause as well as the skin.

Initial podiatry consult, 30 minutes

What happens in the room

  1. 01You tell us what changedWhen it started, what makes it worse, what you have stopped doing because of it.
  2. 02We look for what is driving itHow you stand, how you walk and how the sore structure behaves when we load it. Some of that may reproduce your symptoms, which is how we find it.
  3. 03Treatment starts, where it is appropriateStrapping, footwear changes, loading advice or hands-on work, depending on what we found.

Questions

Questions people ask before they book

How much is the first appointment?

At South Brisbane the first appointment is $0 gap with eligible private health cover, or $99 without cover. That is for new patients and no referral is needed. Indooroopilly does not have that offer, so it is the standard initial consult fee. Ring (07) 2103 3978 and we will tell you the exact figure before you book.

How soon can I be seen?

Both clinics run Monday to Friday. Booking online shows the real diary rather than a promise, so you can see what is left this week and pick it yourself, at any hour. If you want the soonest possible time, ring (07) 2103 3978 and ask.

Will the appointment hurt?

Some of the assessment may reproduce your symptoms, because pressing and loading the sore structure is how we work out which one it is. The aim is to understand it and settle it. Tell us when something is too sore and we stop.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No. You can book a podiatry appointment yourself, online or by phone. If you already have a GP care plan or scans, bring them.

Do you take my health fund?

We accept all health funds, and consults are claimable with private health extras cover. What you get back depends on your fund and your level of cover, so check your extras limit if you want the number in advance.

Where do I park?

Both clinics have a free parking garage. Both have wheelchair-accessible parking, entrance and restroom, and Indooroopilly also has accessible seating.
